Recommendation from Mid City CERT Team Leader

I am a San Diego Mid City CERT Team Leader and want to let you know about a great set of speakers and a great program they put on.  Last Saturday, June 14th we had Susan Conniry and Tom Beasley speak before an 80 person CERT group.  Their training was on Urban Disaster Survival.  Basically, they were teaching us how to survive, if we were in a disaster without our CERT Backpacks.

They taught us how to filter water, make a shelter, provide light and warmth for ourselves and others.  They also taught us how and where to store food supplies before a disaster, as well as many other things.  They were informative, educational and funny.  I had several people who said to me before the program started that they had to leave early for other commitments---none left early, this program was too interesting and fun to think of leaving.  After the program, that same day, I received dozens of emails thanking me for providing this program. 

I just thought you should know about this great program and it’s speakers.  They speak for free and are willing to talk to more CERT groups. 

They put on a great program and I would like to see other CERT Teams have the benefit of their knowledge.
