Disasters can strike quickly and without warning. The Travelin' Road show demonstrates that by utilizing simple methods, anyone can create a safe haven in their home, office, school, or vehicle—anywhere—any environment. Emphasis is placed on controlling panic and fear by teaching the basic universal survival priorities: creating a structure; finding, gathering, and purifying water; creating fire for heat and light; and acquiring food from alternative sources. Preparation is the key to weathering a disaster; survival skills will ensure that you live through it.

Though these trainings are offered tuition free to community groups, private sessions are also available for a nominal fee. Please email for more information.

Also, please note that in accordance with the first "rule of survival," trainings may be canceled or postponed due to circumstances beyond our control. (Including sever weather, earthquake or fire!) Remember, that first rule is don't exacerbate a survival situation and make it more of a problem!

On August 2nd, 2006, in conjunction with Carlos Bejar, Emergency Manager for the City of Chula Vista, Beasley and Conniry presented the first in a series of workshops designed for employees. (Testimonials) Chula Vista is the first city to advance the idea that if their employees have prepared for themselves and their families and have learned basic survival techniques, in the case of a disaster they will not panic but will stay on the job and work effectively through the emergency situation.

"Creating Awareness Without Precipitating Panic"

"You took away the fear, gave folks simple ideas in regards to survival skills and preparation. Thank you for working with us."

Division Chief Bob Krans (retired) Poway Safety Services

"Attending your workshop, reading your book, I already feel better, less helpless and better equipped to survive, as well as able to help those around me. Thanks!"

Allyson, El Cajon, California

"I think that everyone should attend at least one of Susan and Tom's presentations.  Even if they don't go home and do the things that they have been told to do, just listening to the presentation will make a person more prepared for a disaster."

Michelle, Senior Administrative Assistant
